1) Honey

Narrated `Aisha:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to love sweet edible things and honey.

2) Gourd

Narrated Anas:
“The Prophet (ﷺ) like gourd.”

3) Dates

Narrated ‘Aishah:
That the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “A house without dates, its inhabitants will be hungry.”

4) Milk

Narrated Al-Bara:
The Prophet (ﷺ) came from Mecca with Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr said “We passed by a shepherd and at that time Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was thirsty. I milked a little milk in a bowl and Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) drank till I was pleased.

5) Watermelon

Narrated Aisha:
The Prophet (ﷺ) ate watermelon with fresh dates.


6) Musk Melon

Narrated Anas:
I saw Prophet (ﷺ) eat together musk-melon and dates.

7) Vinegar

Umm Sa’d said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered upon ‘Aishah, when I was with her, and said: ‘Is there any food?’ She said: ‘We have bread, dates and vinegar.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘What a blessed condiment vinegar is. O Allah, bless vinegar, for it was the condiment of the Prophets before me, and no house will ever be poor in which there is vinegar.’

8) Olive oil

Ata’ ibn Abi Asid, said:
“Allah’s Messenger said (Allah bless him and give him peace): ‘Eat [olive] oil, and anoint with it, for it is from a blessed tree!’”

9) Grapes

Narrated Anas ibn Malik:
The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the sale of grapes till they became black and the sale of grain till it had become hard.

10) Pomegranate

The Prophet (ﷺ) states in a holy saying: Whoever eats a pomegranate, Allah will light his heart forty nights. The Prophet (ﷺ) has said in a holy saying: There is no pomegranate unless there is a seed in it from Paradise and I would like not to miss a single seed in it.

11) Barley

Hazrat Aisha (RA) once narrated that, “whenever someone fell ill in the house of God’s Messenger (PBUH), he kept a pot of barley soup cooking on the fire until the patient passed through one of the two confines,” [meaning recovery or death]. He would ask them to eat from the soup.
